Repair of existing detectors - all models, all makes

Performance upgrades of all detectors to state of the art specification using e2v scientific instruments components:

Si(Li) Crystal - We can re-process or replace crystals with our own proprietary product, providing optimum resolution and performance.

Performance benefits

The EDX detector is a sensitive instrument and may suffer from performance degradation over long periods of time. Having your detector repaired or upgraded can provide major improvements:

        Better resolution
        Improved low energy detection
        Increased throughput
        Increased spectral performance
        Increased solid angle and efficiency

e2v scientific instruments provides a range of detector service options to repair or upgrade your detector. Simply send your detector to us for a full evaluation by our skilled engineers. We will provide a full report and fixed price quotation prior to any work being started. Typically repairs or upgrades can be completed within a 4 week period as shown in the block diagram below.

Typical packages that can be offered are as follows:

General repair - repair as required back to dewar specification.

Window repair - Fixed price window repair with other parts included as required.

Performance Upgrade - Complete replacement of all internal components and new light element window fitted, to give state of the art performance. Incudes 12 month warranty.

Detector reconfiguration - reconfigure your detector with new preamplifier and cable (if necessary) to operate with new electronics or geometrical change to allow the detector to be fitted to a new SEM or TEM.
